Lace knitting can seem intimidating at first, but in this intensive we will demystify this process by exploring the basic elements of knitted lace, working with both written patterns and charted patterns, and discuss the importance of choosing the right type of yarn for each project. Throughout the workshop you will learn invaluable tips on knitting technique and get advice about choosing patterns and sourcing and buying yarn. This workshop is for knitters who have learned the basics and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Requirements: Advanced Beginner: You should know the double stranded cast on, knit and purl, simple decreases (ssk and k2 tog) and how to cast off. Bring 3 or more balls of light colored sport/DK weight smooth cotton yarn, size 6 or 7 needles, small scissors, pen and paper. to the first class.
