Sometimes IKEA hacks can be complicated. Or sometimes they look worse after than they did before. But that's certainly not the case with this dresser hack, in my humble opinion. It is incredibly easy to do and the final product is so pretty. Click through to check it out.

The key material here is gold contact paper... just apply it to the support frame behind the drawers, and you're finished! It doesn't get any easier than that. Head over to IKEA Hackers to check out the tutorial.

Safety note: Please make sure to anchor your dresser to the wall to ensure that it stays securely upright.

faith-towers on Dec 02, 2016:

Thanks for the heads up Katie, I didn't realize there was a recall! I will add a note now to the post now.

Katie on Dec 01, 2016:

These Malm dressers have been recalled by IKEA because they can topple over onto children. IKEA will actually take your dresser back and give you cash back. If you want to keep your dresser (like if you live in a child-free household), that's your own business, but Curbly, please add a note that these dressers should be secured/anchored to the wall.
