StarTribune In late 2011, Aveda founder, Horst Rechelbacher, bought the top two unfinished floors of the Phoenix on the River, a luxury high-rise that overlooks the Mississippi River and pretty much all of downtown Minneapolis. Mr. Rechelbacher’s vision for the 12,000 square foot space was not only to create a stunning home but also a backdrop for his extensive midcentury art collection. The three bedroom, five bathroom condo features an all-glass kitchen and a mudroom that includes not only a laundry but a dog-washing station as well. And, if all that interior space wasn’t enough, the condo has 1,200 square feet of outdoor living space too. The 2-story condo happens to be on the market for $8 million, which seems like a lot of cheese, but it does buy unparalleled views and the distinction of being the most expensive condo in the Upper Midwest.
