A Little Spring Fun: How to Make a Violet Fizz

by on Apr 2, 2012

Hi!  I’m Alexandra Hedin – a lifestyle and entertaining expert from the Pacific Northwest.  I provide inspiration, recipes, and crafts for creating a lovely life.  It doesn’t take much to make everyday lovely – or to have fun.  And isn’t that what life is about? All week I’ll be here showing you how I threw together a little springtime affair that takes only a little thought and some good friends.

Today, the cocktail!  Every time I host friends I create a signature cocktail for the event.  It’s a little neurotic, I know, but it’s so fun to surprise my friends with something new.  Plus, they’ve started to try to guess what the theme for the evening is based on what I great them with at the door.

Violet Fizz

  • 1 part gin
  • 1 part crème de violette
  • 2 parts tonic water
  • squeeze of lemon
  • lemon zest

In a highball glass filled with ice combine gin, crème de violette, and tonic.  Stir with a swizzle stick and top with a squeeze of lemon and a piece of lemon zest.

Stay tuned this week for the rest of the party including recipes and crafts to compliment your new favorite cocktail!
